Four cities offer a way out of your dining rut

New Mexico Restaurant Week provides an incentive to sample new tastes from some of the state’s top chefs. Las Cruces, Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque will each host a Restaurant Week with the goal of enticing locals to try different places and showcasing New Mexico foods. More than 70 restaurants across the four cities will offer affordable three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus. Hotels will also offer special rates, and discounted cooking classes and wine tastings are on the menu, as well. No tickets are required, but reservations are recommended and may be secured by phoning the restaurant directly or through the restaurant’s website if it is a member of OpenTable. Restaurant Week takes place February 20–27, 2011, in Las Cruces, February 27–March 6, 2011, in Taos, March 6–13 in Santa Fe, and March 13–20, 2011 in Albuquerque. Prices are $20–$40 per person or $25 per couple, depending on the restaurant. The official New Mexico Restaurant Week website lists all participants. —Sally Moore
